CURRENT CAPITAL PROJECTS

First, Who and what we are:

Our building is a national and city landmark located in one of the greatest neighborhoods of New York City. The building is owned by the Yuko Nii Foundation (YNF). THE BUILDING OWNED FREE AND CLEAR!  The YNF supports the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center (WAH Center). The YNF owns and maintains the building and collections and the WAH Center provides programming for exhibits and performances. We have a growing contemporary art collection plus many historically important items. We have a dynamic program of contemporary art exhibits and performances. You can visit our archives here:

 We are looking for CURRENT funding for:

1) Building an art collection and storage area and library in our Mansard roof with windows that overlook the scope of Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline and the Williamsburg Bridge;

2) Buying computers and other equipment for digital research and digital and print publishing;

3) Hiring staff to direct ongoing programs for this project that will include public access to our digital archives, and direct access to art and objects to qualified scholars;

4) Pay stipends to outside scholars for lectures and research and a part time publishing director;

5) Design and publish on-line and print catalogs. Example:

Major support will be acknowledged with name recognition for either the entire Mansard roof project, for example "THE 'JOHN DOE' LIBRARY AND DIGITAL ARCHIVES"  or for other aspects of the area such as naming the elevator, naming an endowment for staff, naming the west window overlooking the Manhattan skyline, etc.
